15
Q

What does the Anterior Spinal A supply

A
  • branch of vertebral
  • MEDIAL medulla
    -anterior 2/3 of spinal cord
16

What does the posterior inferior cerebellar A (PICA) supply?

A

-LATERAL medulla
-inferior cerebellum!!!!!!

18

What are the branches of the basilar A?

A

Anterior Inferior Cerebellar A (AICA)-> Labyrinthine A

Pontine A

Superior Cerebellar A (SCA)

Posterior Cerebral A

19
Q

What does the Anterior Inferior Cerebellar A (AICA) supply?

A

lateral caudal pons
cerebellum (small region)

20
Q

What does the labyrinthine A supply

A

Cochlea
Vestibular Apparatus

21
Q

What is one of the only strokes that present with hearing LOSS

A

labyrinthine A

22
Q

What does the pontine A supply

A

rostral lateral pons

23
What does the Superior Cerebellar A (SCA) supply?
Cerebellum Rostral dorsolateral pons
24
WHat are the arteries that branch off the main branches to further supply deeper brainstem structures
paramedian and circumferential A
25
What artery branches off descending thoracic aorta and supplies spinal nerve roots? What what are the two main ones for cervical & thoracic and lumbar & sacral?
Segmental radicular A - cervical & thoracic- thoracic radicular A - lumbar & sacral- great radicular A of adamkiewicz
26
diff between veins and venus sinuses
veins rely on valve system sinuses do NOT
27
Where are venus sinuses and where do they drain into
between Periosteal and meningeal dural layers - drain to internal jugular vein
28
ACA stroke imparments
LOWER EXTREMITY: Contralateral weakness, motor control, tone, contralateral sensory loss, Visual deficits impaired bilateral integration (1 side can lift arm both sides cant, bc loose supply to PriMC in frontal lobe and corpus collosum) impaired cognition and executive function (pre/frontal cortex), Urinary incontinence and lack of emotional regulation (cingulate cortex & hypothalamus)
29
MCA stroke impairments
UPPER EXSTREMITY Contralateral weakness, motor control, tone, contralateral sensory loss, Contralateral visual deficits , Contralateral extraocular weakness (movement of eye) perceptual deficits (depth perception) Speech deficits Auditory processing (can hear but cant put meaning)
30
PCA stroke impairments
Contralateral visual deficits Cortical blindness Perceptual deficits Dyslexia Memory deficits Neuropathic pain Involuntary movments Weakness
