The relationships between players within a team
what does coactive mean?
Where two or more individuals are performing something at the same time
what does interactive mean?
This is where the outcome of the team performance is dependent on a team member
what is social cohesion?
The extent that the members of the team like each other
Define task cohesion
commitment among members to achieve a goal that requires a collective effort.
Define prescribed
Leadership is appointed by a person
Emergent meaning
Leaders are those who emerge and take over responsibility
What is carrons conceptual model of cohesion about?
She was the key author on the study of sports groups and teams also their cohesive qualities. There are 4 components to this theory which are; environmental factors, leadership factors, team factors and personal factors
What are environmental factors?
It is the level of competition in which the games played at also their relationships between one another
What are leadership factors?
Components of this are the behaviour of the leader, how secure their leadership position is and how well respected they are by other team mates and finally how good their decision making is
Give some examples of team factors
How much team members have to interact or coach with each other also by having a clear understanding of their role
