supply chain - relate to the process foods go through before they are purchased and consumed, foods may be added with sugars, fats and preservatives
distribution and affordability - prices consumers pay for the food are set by supermarkets and restaurants, if foods are priced too high consumer go away from fresh fruits and vegetables which affects better food choices
- packaging and processing - the packaging are used in order to attract the customers and consumers meaning packaging that look visually appealing to consumers will be bought, these can reduce their ability to change their nutritional intake
marketing strategies and use of media - advertising from social media to newspapers create conflicting messages between foods for individuals, therefore affect their ability to choose healthy foods.
