A

examples - increasing tax on tobacco and drinking, banning smoking in public places, removing GST on unprocessed foods

A

recognise broader determinants have on health and wellbeing and health status, aims to promote healthy physical and sociocultural environment for all members, promotes H+W will being safe, satisfying and enjoyable.

examples: establishment of Quitline, safe working environment, shaded area in schools, ensuring smoke free environment.

A

focuses on building links between individuals and the community, community working together to achieve a common goal. giving community a sense of ownership of health and wellbeing strategy and working together increases the effectiveness.

examples; Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is a health service provider, run by Aboriginals for Aboringinals, rates of participation are high due to sense of connection, service provides healthcare, education and advocacy

immunisation strategy that involves media, doctors, schools and parents working together to achieve higher immunisation rates for children

A

education is main aspect, gaining health related knowledge and skills to make decisions that may indirectly affect H+W. Education in many places, work, school, families, government and non government organisations.

examples: community health centre running cooking classes for community, quit campaign educating people about smoking, educating parents about the importance of sunscreen

Reorient health services definition and examples

A

changing health system so that it promotes H+W rather than just focusing on diagnosing and treating illness, as with biomedical model. address all factors that influence H+W, requires a shift towards health promotion.

examples: dietitian conducting cooking classes for member on achieving adequate nutrition, doctors focusing a discussion around health eating rather than medication and surgery for cardiovascular diseases.
