Atopic dermatitis/eczema

A
  1. Children 3mo - 2yrs
  2. Fam h/o atopy
  3. Itchy, dry
  4. Flexors more effected, nappy ares in infants
  5. Resolves in few yrs
    Avoid irritants
    Emoilients/moisturisers
    MAINSTAY - STEROIDS 1-2wks during flares
    Hydrocort 1% cream (mild) - face axilla groin
    Triamcinolone, Prednisolone, mometasone - trunk, limbs

  1. No fam h/o atopy
  2. New product use
  3. Mx - steroids (same as above)

  1. Dandruff - scalp, eyebrows, eyelids, nasolabial folds
  2. Mx
    Skull: Anti yeast shampoo - Ketoconazole/Selinium sulfide
    Steroid lotion for 7 nights
    Face and body: Antifungal + Steroid

  1. Cradle cap - skull, not itchy
  2. <3 months
  3. DD: atopic dermatitis
  4. MX:
    Dry, clean, expose to air
    Salicylic acid lotion
