SIMS - both funded by federal government
- both have a safety net
DIF - PBS is for pharmaceuticals only/ medicare for basic medical services
- medicare is the universal health care scheme / PBS subsidises essential life saving meds

DIF- NDIS is government funded/ PHS is privately funded ( pay yourself)
PHS is optional / NDIS is individualised (application)
PHS if you want more pay more/ NDIS dependant on what you need, prices are not altered

DIFS - private health insurance is an optional health service. Medicare is a universal scheme
- private health insurance is at premium prices for individuals who are able to choose their level of cover. Medicares health services are chosen by their scheduling fee
