The PDF may be not properly encoded. You can verify by copying from the original PDF into word or notepad. If text is incorrectly displayed it’s an encoding issue. If the text displays OK then it’s a different problem and best to contact support

Why could this be?

A

Relativity automatically hides toolbar buttons and controls that aren’t applicable to the currently loaded document type so that your toolbar isn’t cluttered while you’re reviewing documents.

A

A securable set of redactions available for applying text redactions in the viewer.

How can you secure the text behind a redaction so that reviewers can’t see it?

A

The only way to achieve this is to do production. If the reviewer has view rights to a markup set and they open the document in the viewer they can see the text.

When applying a markup to a document, what controls the date and time that displays on redacted/highlighted images?

A

The “Native Time Zone Offset” field.

Adjust the UTC value as appropriate to avoid placing incorrect time designations on docs will produce.

If you copy a Mark Up set that already has redactions applied to some documents. What happens?

A

If you view the document with the new markup set the redactions will still be present. Copying the Markup set also copies the redactions that have been applied to documents.

Redact Audits tab shows Details, Created date, Who created, Control number and Action Details for every redactions relation change

What do you need to be wary of?

A
  • English is the default.
  • If you want other languages you need to download and install it
  • If using multiple languages best to test on a set of docs before doing a full project run.
  • Language settings must be set properly for processing with the language setting in the processing profile. Otherwise extracted text may not be encoded properly.

A

Any pages that you rotate will be rotated the next time you return to them in the Viewer and for other users who view them after you rotate them. Rotation is also applied when you run the production containing the images.

A

Relativity displays all long text fields made available in the Viewer in the drop-down menu, regardless of whether that field contains text for the current document. If you select a long text field from the drop-down list, and the current document doesn’t have text for that field, the Viewer displays a message stating, “This page is empty”.

Using Extracted text viewer of a PDF document the text doesnt seem to be formatted right. What could be the problem?

A

The Viewer displays PDF text by mapping the character codes to Unicode in most cases. If the original PDF was not properly encoded, it may not display correctly in the viewer.

You can test this by copying text from the original PDF. If the pasted text does not display corretcly, the PDF is badly encoded.

  • Change history is removed from documents

A

Access in the bottom left corner of the Image Viewer. Allows you to approve/Reject redactions and remove any that are no longer needed.

A

Access it via the Redact Markups Navigator (bottom left of Image Viewer) and ensure Markup Review is selected. Allows you to review documents to make sure all sensitive information has been properly redacted or highlighted after running an automated project.

After running an automated project you can remove all the markups that were applied by clicking the Revert button, choosing the project to revert.

A

Relativity Short Message Format

An open standard for messages such as slack, MSTeams, Whatsapp and SMS messages.

To Create RSMF files -

  • Retrieve Short messages from source
  • Group participants and timeframes in the data
  • Create an rsmf_manifest.json file
  • Ensure manifest file references avatars, attachments from data source
  • Place the manifest file in the same folder as avatars and attachments
  • Zip the folder
  • Use zip to create the RSMF file

Once RSMF file exists you can import or process into Relativity

Relativity provides validation tools you can validate the RSMF file with before importing/loading
