Individual changes their behaviour to fit in with the group to avoid rejection
Don’t agree with the behaviour/belief
Not permanent- only lasts as long as the group is present

Intermediate level of conformity
The individual adopts the behaviour or belief of a group
May or may not privately agree
Accept the groups norms out of a desire for a relationship or association with the group
Linked to social identity
Internalisation
Deepest level of conformity
Individual accepts the behaviour or belief of the majority publicly and privately- it becomes a part of their belief system
Due to informational social influence
