The lifelong process of learning how to behave in a culture of a society.

Primary socialisation.
Secondary socialisation.

What is primary socialisation?
A
Learned from the family e.g. manners, behaviour.

What is secondary socialisation?
A
Learned from people and social institutions outside our family e.g. teachers, friends, peers, general public.

What are values?
A
General beliefs about what is right and wrong and the important standards which society believes are worth maintaining.

What are norms?
A
Social rules which define correct and acceptable behaviour in a society or social group to which people are expected to conform.
