Enhances/Increases expression of Class I MHC on nucleated cells

Proinflammatory – Has been shown to be elevated in several inflammatory conditions (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis)

Suggested to be a member of the alarmin family, molecules that are released upon tissue necrosis.
