When tower closes, what does KDAA airspace become.
It becomes Class G airspace up to the overlaying Class B airspace (Check about magenta veil?)
Aircraft refueling operating hours
M-F 0700-2200. S-Su 0830-1530. Closed on federal holidays
How to request fixed wing deicing, lead time needed.
Through base ops, 4 hour lead time
How to coordinate crossing the runway not in an AC
Two way LMR radio with ATC when tower open
With base ops when tower closed.
Crossing procedure for vehicles
hold at hold line at least 50 ft from edge of parallel taxiway before radioing ATC/Base ops for permission to cross. Read back instructions, double check for crossing AC, cross without delay. Make crossing at Delta Taxiway
If you PL/have an emergency landing to KDAA, PC will ensure
-AC is brought to a complete stop
-AC is not taxied or hovered
-AC is completely shut down
-AC is not moved until released by incident commander.
Acceptable methods of filing flight plan to base ops
Faxed, email, hand deliver.
Latest you can submit an IFR flight plan to base ops
1 hour before ETD
Latest you can submit VFR flight plan to base op
30 min before ETD
Can you amend a flight plan over the radio
Yes, with base ops and while in KDAA’s airspace
Base ops will cancel flight plan if no amendment or departure time is announced…
2 hours after ETD
VFR-Local flight plan may be used
-When flight is VFR
-Staying w/n 200 nm
-Terminating to KDAA
-Flight originates and returns to KDAA w/o shutting down elsewhere
-Route of flight when known will be depicted to aid SAR
Contingency flight plans
These plans for expected QRF missions will be generated and forwarded to base ops. Upon alert, aircrew will update weather and forward that void time to base ops
SVFR minima
Day 300 1/2, Night 500-1, Aided 500-1 (Rotary wing only)
No SVFR operations will be approved in North/south traffic patterns when field is
reported as IFR
