Sheets of fibrous connective tissue enclosing other structures

Fascial plane

A

The sheet-like nature of fascia means that the body
contains extensive planes of connective tissue. Infection can spread
rapidly along such planes. Surgeons can separate adjacent tissues
relatively easily along these planes.

Fascial space

A

A volume of tissue enclosed by fascia. Often, the main
component enclosed by a fascial space is loose connective tissue.
