3 hallmarks of delirium?
sudden
fluctuating
disorganised thinking
two types of delirium? which is more dangerous and why?
hyper and hypo

symptoms of both types of delirium?
hyper - agitated, restless
hypo - sleepy, slow

what do patients require for CAM to confirm delirium?
1 + 2 and 3/4
what do patients require for 4AT to confirm delirium?
4 or above
treatment for delirium?
keep patients calm
mobilise
good diet/fluids
what drugs can be given in delirium?
haloperidol
quetiapine (if patient has parkinsons)
benzodiazepines
