Childhood or pregnancy
Oedema, fragility, blistering and petechia on sun-exposed areas

Failure of ferrochellatase enzyme leads to protoporphyrin build up

Visible light protection measures

Alcohol
Hepatitis
Oestrogens
Haemochromatosis
What is the presentation of porphyria cutanea tarda?
Blisters, skin fragility, hyperpigmentation, hypertrichosis, solar urticaria and morphoea on sun exposed areas
What is the treatment of porphyria cutanea tarda?
Treat the underlying cause
What is the first line treatment of acne?
Benzoyl peroxide
What is the first line treatment of rosacea?
Topical metronidazole
