design your own study Flashcards
designing a study
- You are always given a stem and explicit instructions on what you must refer to in your answer.
What you need to do is:
- Use the bullet points you are given and use them as explicit headings in your response. Number them and underline them and structure your whole answer according to these.
- Use key terms/psychological language to ensure your answer is sophisticated
- As long as you cover the points they ask for you are likely going to score high marks. Keep it as simple as you can (for example if they give you suggestions that you “could” use- you MUST use them)
- The aim of these questions is to ensure you can think like a psychologist in terms of PRACTICAL psychology. Can you design an effective study with validity that has enough control of variables/awareness of ethics/investigator effects- can you problem solve/show evidence of creativity in your response.
