What is the window of time given to each flight to arrive to the DFAC?
3 minutes before or after their scheduled dining priority
Flt/CC halts the flight, places them at parade rest, and marches one pace away from the mess checker
DFAC Entrance Procedure I
Flt/CC salutes and reports “Sir/Ma’am, X Flight arrives with a dining priority of X. We arrived at X. Our accountability is X of X.”
DFAC Entrance Procedure II
The Mess Checker will reply “You have arrived on time, your flight may enter.”
DFAC Entrance Procedure III (ON TIME)
The Mess Checker will reply “Your flight has arrived late, exit the dining facility immediately after receiving your MREs.”
DFAC Entrance Procedure III (LATE)
Flt/CC will ask “Will that be all Sir/Ma’am?” Repeat until the response is “That will be all.” The Flt/CC will then salute and return to the flight
DFAC Entrance Procedure IV
After calling the guidon to post the door, the Flt/CC will call “Key Personnel, POST.” Key personnel (water monitors and the deputy) will form an element to the right/left of the flight. Flt/CC will command “Key personnel: forward, MARCH” and they will march (with cadence) into the DFAC
DFAC Entrance Procedure V
What must cadets do prior to entering the DFAC?
wash hands or use hand sanitizer inside the facility
How do cadets form up inside the DFAC?
cadets form two lines even with the edge of the wall while at attention
What must cadets do before entering the serving area?
look both ways
Who will be the first cadet to process through the chow line, and who will be the last?
- Deputy First
- Commander Last
How will cadets process through the serving line?
they will step forward, execute a facing movement, retrieve a tray and silverware, and side step down the line (heels together when halted)
How much liquid should cadets consume per meal?
- three full 8oz glasses of water
- sports drink
- or 24 oz
What are the characteristics of a tight meal?
cadets sit at modified attention
- NO TALKING
How long do cadets remain at attention at the table?
Until a fourth cadet arrives and says “Be seated”
- or 20 seconds has passed
What happens after the cadets are seated?
Positions 2 & 3 pass napkins to the cadets on their right, then take one for themselves
- Napkins will then be placed on their laps
What happens after napkins are passed out?
Position 4 states “Moment of silence”, then states “enjoy your meal” and begins their timer, placing it in the center of the table
How long do cadets have to eat?
10 minutes from when “enjoy your meal” is stated until trays are removed from the table
What happens once all cadets have finished eating?
Positions 2 & 3 pass all items on their tray to 1 and 4. Trays will be stacked, cadets will ground chairs to the right momentarily stand at attention, then begin cleaning
When cleaning, what does Position 1 do?
Proceed to the tray cabinet
When cleaning, what does Position 2 do?
Wipes down the table
When cleaning, what does Position 3 do?
lifts the napkin holder
When cleaning, what does Position 4 do?
Waits to collect any waste from cleaning, then proceeds to the tray cabinet with Position 1
Where and how will cadets exit the DFAC?
Cadets exit the door opposite the entry, and will organize themselves into a detail before proceeding to the designated area
