How does ICD 11 categorise mood affective disorders?
They do it according to the type of mood generated and how the persons mood changes over time.
What is an episode?
Time period in which a certain mood dominates
Define depressive disorder according to the ICD 11?
Period of diminished interest in activities occurring most of the day , nearly everyday during a period lasting atleast two weeks accompanied by other symptoms(hopelessness, suicidal thoughts)
How is a person diagnosed with RECURRENT depressive disorder?
If they have experienced atleast two depressive episodes
Define Bipolar disorder according to the ICD 11.
Extreme mood state lasting at least one week unless shortened by treatment intervention”
What are symptoms of BPD?
Euphoria, irritability,expansiveness,very low moods and symptoms similar to unipolar depression.
What is the difference between type 1 and two BPD?
Type two exprience the same intensity of depressive episodes as people with type 1 but they tend to experience hypo manic episodes rather than manic.( less intense than manic)
What is the BDI?
Becks depression inventory:
Lasts two weeks people think about when awnsering
