Not enough insulin is produced. Develops as people get older but is not becoming more common in children, teens and overweight people due to bad diet. Usually treated through diet

A

People who are diagnosed with diabetes are more at risk of heart disease, strokes, kidney failure, blindness and circulation problems

When you consume food it gets broken down into glucose for energy, insulin is needed for this process. Diabetes occurs when there is no or not enough insulin in the body

A

People cannot digest lactose. Can suffer from cramps, sickness and diarrhoea after consuming cows milk.

A

Gluten is a protein found in wheat. The lining of the intestine is damaged by the gluten therefore nutrients cannot be absorbed. Can develop anaemia, weight loss and diarrhoea
