Q

What are the steps in mammalian digestion?

A
  1. Mechanical digestion from the teeth and chemical digestion in the mount (saliva)
  2. Mechanical digestion in the churning of the stomach and chemical digestion in the stomach
  3. Villi in the intestines absorb water and nutrients through simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion and active transport
  4. Bacteria in the large intestine feed on unabsorbed material
  5. Waste is eliminated
