What’s role of Peripheral nervous system

A
  • body wide network of messenger neurons
  • sensory neurons to CNS, motor neurons away from CNS

Q

What’s the role of sympathetic division of ANS

A
  • increases bodily activities. Releases noradrenaline. Activates in stress response (Fight or Flight)
  • heart rate, sweat and breathing rate increases
  • dilates pupils
  • inhibits digestion and decreased saliva production

Q

What the role of the parasympathetic division of ANS

A
  • decreases bodily activities. Releases acetylcholine activates in rest. Returns body to relaxed state
  • heart rate, sweat and breathing rate decrease
  • pupils constrict
  • stimulates digestion
