Q

What’s the myelin sheath

A
  • made of Schwann cells
  • protects cell and helps increase speed of electrical information transmission along axon

Q

What is the process of a Reflex Arc

A
  1. Sensation detected by sensory receptors of sensory neurons
  2. Electrical signal travels along dendrite to axon terminal
  3. Converts to chemical signal and crosses synaptic cleft, detected by relay neuron in the spine
  4. Reflex response passed immediately to motor neuron and also from relay neuron to CNS for processing
  5. Signal travels along motor neuron to the effector which causes limb to move out of danger
