What are the three main criteria of Anorexia Nervosa (AN)?
Restriction, fear and disturbance
A
- Restriction of energy intake relative to requirements, leading to significantly low body weight
- Intense fear of gaining weight/becoming fat or persistent behaviour that interferes with weight gain (regardless of weight)
- Disturbance in the way one’s body is experienced, undue influence of body on self-image or persistent lack of recognition of the seriousness of the current weight

What two criteria are binge eating episodes characterized by in Bulimia Nervosa (BN)?
A
- Eating a larger amount of food than averagely normal in a distinct period of time
- Feelings of lack of control over eating during the episode

A
- Inappropriate compensatory behaviours in order to prevent weight gain (purging/restriction/etc.)
- Self-evaluation is unduly unfluenced by body shape and weight

Binge eating/compensatory both occur at least once a week for 3 months

What overlap is there between BN and BED?
A
- Binge eating episodes (what a shocker, but criteria here are the same)
- Also the time-frame is once a week, 3 months

A
- Eating much more rapidly than normal
- Eating until feeling uncomfortably full
- Eating large amounts of food when not feeling physically hungry
- Eating alone cuz embarrassment of amount
- Feeling disgusted with oneself, depressed or very guilty afterwards
