What are the three main criteria of Anorexia Nervosa (AN)?

Restriction, fear and disturbance

A
  • Restriction of energy intake relative to requirements, leading to significantly low body weight
  • Intense fear of gaining weight/becoming fat or persistent behaviour that interferes with weight gain (regardless of weight)
  • Disturbance in the way one’s body is experienced, undue influence of body on self-image or persistent lack of recognition of the seriousness of the current weight
