How are obsessions defined in OCD (2)?
A
- Recurrent and persistent thoughts/urges/images that are experienced as instrusive and unwanted (generally causes anxiety/distress)
- Attempts to ignore/suppress above or neutralize them with some other thought/action (compulsions)

How are compulsions defined in OCD (2)?
A
- Repetitive behaviours or mental acts that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession or according to rigid rules
- Above are aimed at preventing/reducing anxiety, distress or prevention of some dreaded event/situation (non-realistic in neutralizing/prevention or excessive)

What is the criteria of OCD regarding time/impairment/distress?
A
- time-comsuming (1+ hour)
- or significant distress
- or impairment in areas of functioning (e.g., social/occupational)
