Ecosystem
System or area where organisms interact with their physical environment
Biotic
A living factor, e.g. competition
Abiotic
A non-living factor, e.g. light
Producer
Organism that makes it’s own food
Consumer
An organism which eats other living things (e.g. plants or animals)
Decomposers
Organisms which decay (breakdown) dead organic matter to obtain food
Biodiversity
The variety of species found within an ecosystem
Habitat
The place an organism lives
Population
Number of individuals of one species in a particular habitat at a particular time
Community
Number of individuals of different species in a particular habitat at a particular time
