What are the five things that makes law effective.
- Known to the public
- Acceptable to the community
- Able to be enforced
- Stable
- Able to be changed
How does a law have to be known to the public
The public must be informed about the law and it is your responsibility to know about the laws existence.
How does a law have to be Acceptable to the community
If a law doesn’t comply to community values, it’s not likely to be followed.
How does a law have to be able to be enforced
If it is difficult to catch and prosecute someone for doing something, it is likely that the law will not be followed.
How does a law have to be stable
The law should be reasonably stable and predictable.
How does a law have to be changed
Because community values change and evolve, laws must be able to do the same.
