What is Faradays Law of electromagnetic induction?
A
The magnitude of the induced emf across the ends of a conductor is directly proportional to the rate of change in magnetic flux linkage with the conductor.

- slip rings connected to coil
- coil of wire placed in magnetic field
- carbon brushes in contact with slip rings -connected to external circuit

What is different between a DC generator and an AC generator?
A
A DC generator does not have slip rings but does have a commutator.

Define commutator.
A
A metal ring that has been split into two halves. There is a gap in between the two halves.
This ensures that the direction of the current remains the same.
