What are the properties of electromagnetic waves?

-transfers energy from source as waves
-transverse
-electrical+magnetic component move perpendicular to each other.
-speeds of light
-straight lines
-can travel in vacuum

What is a spectrum?

Series of waves created by disturbances in electric+magnetic fields

Energy increases right-left: low frequency, long wavelength on right. High frequency, short wavelength on left.

One difference between radio waves and microwaves

Radio waves are reflected by ionosphere - long wavelength, low Hz reduce how easily absorbed, allow to travel long distance

Microwaves pass through the ionosphere - higher Hz transmit more info
