What does the ADSP do?
Air Data Smart Probes measure air pressure (dynamic and static) and the angle of attack. Includes an air data computer fixed to the base. The pitot port measures the total air pressure for airspeed indications. Static ports (2) aft of pitot port measures the static air pressure.
The static ports are also used to calculate Angle Of Attack.
ADSP Reversion
Left PFD- ADSP 1-ADSP 4- ADSP 2- ADSP 3
Right PFD- ADSP 2 - ADSP 4 - ADSP 1 - ADSP 3
ISI - ADSP 3 - ADSP 4
Can be changed by pressing the ADS (air data source button) on the Reversion Switch Panel (RSP)
Angle Of Attack (AOA) sensors
Supplies angle-of-attack information and are a backup for the ADSPs
Total Air Temperature Probes
Supplies TAT & SAT data
TAT probe failure
If a single probe fails, the ADS opposite engine TAT. If both TATs fail, the ADS uses the opposite fuselage TAT probe.
