22
Q

how does Photosynthesis and respiration relate to the carbon cycle?

A

They make up the carbon Cycle
CO2 - plant - O2 - Animal - CO2 - (Repeat)

23
What is the greenhouse effect
the greenhouse effect is when some of the Infrared radiation passes through the atmosphere and is absorbed by greenhouse gasses, which distributes them in all directions which warms and lowers the atmosphere
24
where does methane come from
Methane (CH4) comes from man made and natural sources and has a greater warming capacity than CO2. Agriculture, fossil fuel extraction, waste management man made sources. Wetlands, volcanic activity are natural sources.
25
What is the enhanced greenhouse effect?
The enhanced greenhouse effect is caused by humans adding an unnatural amount of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. Adding more gasses to the atmosphere means that more infrared radiation is absorbed and distributed which warms the earth. damaging the atmosphere so less heat leaves the atmosphere warming the earth.
26
Where does Carbon Dioxide come from
Cellular respiration (animals + humans breathing) as well as the burning of fossil fuels/chemical reaction (complete combustion
27
where does water vapour come from
evaporation of water
28
what are examples of greenhouse gasses
Water vapour, methane, Carbon dioxide
29
what is CNS
central nervous system
29
what is the PNS
Peripheral nervous system
29
what do motor Neurons do
they carry messages from the central nervous system to he effectors
30
what do sensory neurons do
they carry messages form organs (feel, see, smell ect..) to the CNS
31
what do interneurons do
they transfer messages between other neurons
32
what is a neuron
special cells that send electrical messages to others they are apart of the peripheral nervous system
33
34
what is a bacterial infection
35
what is a fungal infection
36
what are some examples of a viral infection
37
what is an example of a bacteria infection
38
what is blood compramised of
red blood cells, white blood cells and plasma and platelets
39
what isthe first line of defence
the non specific barrier comprised if the physical and chemical barriers like skin and slavia, sweat ect..
40
what is the six main parts of the brain
frontal lobe, parental lobe, temporal lobe, occipital lobe, cerebelum and brain stem
41
what does the frontal lobe do
where you proccess ideas
42
what does the pareital lobe do
it is to do with the nerves that sense things
43
occipital lobe
vision
44
temporal lobe
speech/ understanding and processing things
45
cerebellum
balance and coordination
46
brain stem
to do with swallowing breathing, heart rate and blood flow
47
what does the left side of the brain do
language, science, math , thinking and reasoning
48
what does the right brain do
creativity, art, music, shape awareness and recognising faces
49
what s the Aquas Humour (eye)
a clear fluid that helps the cornea keep its shape
50
cornea (eye)
a tough clear covering ove rthe iris and pupil that helps to protect the eye
