18
Q

What is thermal decomposition?

A

When a compound break down when heated

19
Q

What is activation energy?

A

The minimum amount of energy needed for particles to react

20
Q

Method: temperature changes?

A

1) measure 25cm³ of HCL into polystyrene cups using measuring cylinder
2) measure the initial temperature of HCL using thermometer
3) measure 5cm³ of NAOH and add to polystyrene cup
4) Quickly put lid on the cup & stir thermometer through hole
5) wait for thermometer to reach consistent reading as record as final temperature
6) repeat and calculate mean
