what is sport england?
organisation that tries to help communities develop sporting habits for life.
It funds other organisations and projects to get people involved in sport. MASS PARTICIPATION
what is UK sport?
organisation that focuses on the development of elite sport. Provides athletes
with the opportunity to elite facilities, coaching and generally provides athletes with the best chance of succeeding in their sport.
what is national governing bodies?
is an organisation that governs and administers a sport on a national basis
what are the participation rates?
29% of young people aged between 5-16 (2009) do less than 30 minutes of exercise a day. 24.2% are fairly active (30-59 minutes per day). Those from a low socio-economic family are least likely to be active (42%).
