1
Q

What engine the E170 has

A

GE CF34-8E turbo fan
High by pass
2 spool axial flow

2
Q

Power output of the engine

A

13000- 14200

3
Q

How is the engine controlled

A

By the FADEC ( dual channel)

4
Q

What are the subsystems of the engine fuel system

A

Fuel control system

Fuel distribution system

5
Q

Components of the fuel distribution system

A

Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Fuel manifold
18 fuel injectors

6
Q

Components of the fuel control system

A
FADEC
FMU
Permanent magnet alternator
Engine sensors
Variable geometric actuator
operavility bleed valve
7
Q

What part of the engine is lubricated

A

The engine main shaft bearings

And the accessories gearbox

8
Q

Where can you see the engine temp/pressure/quantity

A

Temp/press are display on ICAS

Oil quantity on MFD

9
Q

How many igniters per engine

A

2 igniters .
One used for ground start , two for inflight start
Controlled by the FADEC

10
Q

What happens when OVRD is selected

A

Both igniters are energized always

11
Q

What does the starting system consist of

A

Air turbine starter ATS

Starter control valve. SCV

12
Q

Describe N2 spool

A

10 stage compressor

2 stage HP turbine

12
Q

Describe the N1 spool

A

Single fan

4 stage LP turbine

13
Q

Can igniters be turned off in flight

A

FADEC will disregard any OFF selection in flight

Only on ground for dry motoring

14
Q

What does the cyan line represents on the N1 dial on approach
When does it come on

A

It indicates the minimum N1 bleed requirements for Icing conditions
It comes on at 1200 feet AGL when anti ice on

15
Q

Does the FADEC provides engine start protection

A

Only on ground for hung, hot , or no light off start

16
Q

What will the FADEC do in case of a HOT start

A

Will not allow FF if ITT is greater than 120C

It will continue to run the starter (dry motoring) until temps falls below 120 and re introduce fuel

17
Q

Describe the start sequence

A

7% N2 ignition
20% N2 fuel flow
20% N2 +5 sec light off
50% N2 ignition off

18
Q

What provides under-speed and overspeed protection

A

The FADEC via the FMU

52% N2 to 102% N2

19
Q

What is ATTCS and what controls it

A

Automatic take-off thrust control system

FADEC controlled

20
Q

What happens if a trust reverse inadvertently deploys

A

The FADEC will limit respective engine to IDLE thrust

21
Q

What is flex

A

Reduce takeoff thrust based on assumed temps

22
Q

What percentage N1 needed for windmill start

A

7.2% N1

23
Q

What is the main power of the engines FADEC

A

The PMA permanent magnet alternator

24
Q

Engine start max ITT

A

815C

25
Q

How much cool down or warm up of engine

A

Min of 2 minutes
