A figure of speech in which human qualities are given to a non-human thing
Hyperbole
A figure of speech in which the truth is exagerated
Dramatic Irony
Special kind of contrast between appearance and reality, the viewer knows something the character does not
Foreshadowing
The writers use hints to indicate events that will happen later in the plot

Figure of speech the compares two unlike things at some length and in several ways

Indirect reference to another literary work
