Enzymes are proteins that act as biological catalysts by accelerating chemical reactions.

enzymes are specific for their substrate and increase reaction rates by lowering activation energy
Describe the induced- fit model of enzyme-substrate binding.
The induced-fit model proposes that the initial interaction between enzyme and substrate is relatively weak, but that these weak interactions rapidly induce conformational changes in the enzyme that strengthen binding.
what are the specific functions affected by enzymes?
Temperature, pH, Presence of inhibitors
what is the rate of an enzyme controlled reaction affected by
