A

Pulseless Dysrhythmias

  • Asystole
  • PEA
  • Pulseless VT & VF

Anaphylaxis in extremis

  • Severe hypotension
  • Severe Resp Distress

Dosage/Route

A

Pulseless Dysrhythmias (Asystole, PEA, P…VT & VF)

  • 1mg IVP/IO during CPR compressions
  • may repeat every 3-5 mins during arrest (no max)

Anaphylaxis in extremis

  • 0.1-0.3 mg S IVP/IO
  • may repeat every 5-15 mins prn

Special Information

A
  • Assess effectiveness by reassessing Pt & ECG for desired/side effects.
  • Alkalosis or Acidosis may decrease effectiveness.
  • Flush IV tubing between Bicarbonate & Epi.

Peds Note

A

-Refer to Ped Drug Guide

  • For Pulseless Arrest & Tx of Symptomatic Bradycardia unresponsive to O2 & ventilation:
  • 0.01mg/kg (0.1 mL/kg) IV/IO q 3-5 min
  • If no IV: Epi 1;1,000 0.1mg/kg ET until IV/IO established
  • For ET admin, dilute into 2-3mL NS
