causes of Esophagitis
Reflux, Candida, CMV, HSV, HIV, Eosinophils, Pill

Heartburn, dysphagia, cough, hoarseness, odynophagia
What meds cause esophagitis?
Bisphos (stay upright), NSAIDS
How can you diagnose Esophagitis?
MANOMETRY. Barium, EGD but usually clinical
How do you treat esophigits?
PPI, H2, sucrolate (old) -Nissen Fundo
Motility issues are
Achalasia (no ganglion), DM, Scleraderma, gastroparesis, EtOH
What is Bird-Beak associated with?
Achalasia
How do you treat achalasia?
Balloon, or Nitrates/CCB
How do you diag Mallory W?
Longitudinal tear - EGD + EtOH
How do you treat Mallory W?
Stop bleed. EGD cauterize
if Hgb <8?
transfuse

GERD
Causes of Stricture?
inflame, Gerd, congenital, iatrogenic, malignancy
How do you diag and tx strcitures?
EGD, balloon dilation. Avoid NSAID
What is plummer vinson? Tx?
Stricture webs + low iron.
Dilation or PPI
Cirrhosis or SVC can lead
varices - EGD
Varices present with?
melena, hematemesis, cirrhosis or SVC
how can you tx varices?
Fix liver, BB ->TIPS, stent

Eosinophilive/ Pills
