  • Democracy had been removed by the Enabling Act
  • on 10 May, the Nazis said that the Social Democrats had used their funds corruptly and arrested 3000 people
  • On 21 June they were banned altogether
  • Seeing this, other political parties dissolved
  • On 14th July, an act was passed to ban new parties
