Why is there controversy in the media if Christianity is included?
Portrayals of Christianity and religious figures are sometimes used in media which causes controversy if thought that it’s inaccurate or offensive. In the media there’s a constant balance between avoiding using material that cause offence+allowing freedom of speech which is a human right.
Positive side to Christianity in the media?
Educate people about Christianity
Christians have their own beliefs onwards portrayed of sex/violence in the media particularly if not portrayed in a way that supports Bibles teachings.

Why do church responses to issues often make headline news?(+example)
They may be more contrary to popular secular belief. Eg 2001 BBC reported Pope John Paul referring to genetic research into human embryos as evil
Why does the media present a complex view of the Christian Church?
It shows that although Christianity is united on major issues, churches are still divided over matters of faith eg treatment of woman+homosexuals by the church
Positive examples of Christianity on TV?
Songs of praise featured stories about Christians and helps raise awareness if Christian belief and practice.
Negative examples of Christianity on tv?
The Simpsons, the Flanders family is seen as naive, boring+out of touch. But also seen as good sense of morals and rings tend to work out well for the family.

The Queen-> head of C of E+sometimes presents a Christian message in the Queens speech on Christmas Day. She has spoken about sacrifice and helping others. Pope Benedict(the second)-> 2008 had media coverage when he apologised for child abuse carried out by some Catholic priests
