What is a family?

A

It’s a social-cultural-historical institution. The concept depends ok culture, society and specific time or era. It’s different for all societies depending mainly on what they need. A social convention, a contract invvibg the government.
Things like family and love, they’re created by society and government. They are the ones that tell us if something is accepted or not and make it seem like what they say is a natural thing even though it’s not. It’s to regulate certain thighs like sex…
Government decide family and marriage, also what we think we want is actually really twisted.

Q

Citizenship, what it means and where it comes from.

A

A citizen is a person who knows how to live is a polis, has specific duties and rights.
In Greece to be a citizen you needed to be over sixteen-eighteen, free man, born there and a man.
Rights are political-social creations.
Polite: to be able to live in a polis.
If you fight against the system you are crazy for defending rights or things you consider good. It’s hard to get away from people that push down rights. And that’s how social movements emerge.

Q

What is a social group?

A

Communities of people that are together because of a difference(characteristic:social, economic…) which gives them personality. And they do things (social/political actions) not only follow trends. They only make sense into certain circumstances(mostly the ones they were borne out of). Being stigmatized of society they take it and make it bigger to show there is an oppression and then make it theirs…
