It is the statement or idea which serves as the basis for an argument
How can you evaluate the credibility of a source?
You can do this by using the CRAAP Test
Checking the currency, Relevance to the topic, Authority of the source, Accuracy of the information, and the purpose of writing.
What should you look out for when evaluating sources?
Biased language
Old information
Poor writing, spelling and grammar
Suspicious websites
What is evaluation?
Evaluation is making a judgement about something after analyzing it.
What is the difference between analysis and evaluation?
Analysis is breaking down complex information into smaller parts to understand into detail with facts and opinions while Evaluation is making a judgement about something determining whether it is good or bad, valuable, useful or effective based on your analysis
What do you need to check or do when verifying news
You need to check the source, verify the information, check for spelling or grammar errors, the date, beware of clickbait, check for bias or exaggeration, no sources or untrusty sources, use fact checking websites and trusted news collectors

It helps you make informed decisions, saves time, enhances critical thinking and supports academic integrity
