Population meaning
Number of organisms of same specifies that live in same place at same time
Ex. Humans
Gene pool meaning
Collection of genes expressed by that population
Ex. Eye colour, hair type, enzyme production
Alleles meaning
Different versions of a gene that code for same trait. Caused by mutations
Ex. Blue, green, brown eyes
Variation meaning
Differences within a population because of alleles
Ex. 98% of population with brown eyes, 1.5% with blue
Heritability meaning
Traits in the gene pool which can be passed down from generations
Ex. 2 parents with brown eyes pass down trait for brown eyes to kids
Descent with modification meaning
Offsprings with differences from parents
Ex. Kid with blue eyes from 2 brown eye parents
Evolution meaning
Heritable change in gene pool of population from generations
Ex. Population with brown eye change to blue
