Ex 2. L2: Multi Dose II Flashcards

1
Q

Dosing regimen steps

A
  1. Know the target concentration range
  2. Determine the max dosing interval (TauMax) round to reasonable interval (E.g., q6h, q8h, q12 and once daily)
  3. Determine maintenance dose (DM). Choose Cssave to fall in the middle of target concentration range
  4. Check whether Cssmax and Cssmin fall within the expected range. Adjust dosing regimen (dose or Tau) if they do not fall within the required range
  5. If necessary, determine loading dose (DL)

Q

1: Know the target concentration range

A

We know that at conc. above 100mg/L Drug X shows signs of toxicity. We also know that at conc. Less than 20mg/L, drug shows no effect.
Range must be between 20-100
