Exam 1.7 Flashcards
(8 cards)
4 Basic Types of Tissues.
Connective, epithelial, muscular, and nervous tissue.
cells, large amounts of amorphous ground substance, and protein fibers.
form a framework and support for organs and the body.
Connective Tissue.
cellularity, polarity, attachment, vascularity, and regeneration.
protection, secretion, absorption, excretion, filtration, diffusion, and sensory reception.
Epithelial Tissue.
Excitability, Contractility, Extensibility, Elasticity
Special ability to shorten or contract in order to produce movement of the body parts.
Muscular Tissue.
being excitable and capable of sending and receiving electrochemical signals that provide the body with information.
responsible for coordinating and controlling many body activities.
Nervous Tissue.
3 Types of Epithelial Tissue.
Squamous, Cuboidal, and Columnar.
Types of connective tissue (7).
dense regular (irregular) connective tissue, cartilage, bone, adipose tissue, blood, and hematopoietic tissue.
4 Types of muscle tissue.
Skeletal, smooth, and cardiac (sometimes glandular).
