How do we administer glucagon?
May be administered subcutaneously, IM, or IV
Supplementary carbohydrate should be given as soon
as possible, especially to a pediatric patient
What do we teach pts about glucagon?
Maintain access to a source of glucose and glucagon kit at all times and
replace glucagon immediately when it reaches the expiration date
