What is the EIS review package about?
This review package is a systematic way to review EISs . The package is divided into 8 sections with a total of 92 criteria which the EIS is reviewed with . The reviewer goes through the criteria section by section giving grades from A-F based on the quality of material and in information provided in the EIS. At the of each section an overall grade is awarded from A-F and then at the of all 8nsections a collation table is put to together with the overall grades from each section and general comments. This ensures that an EIS complies with regulations ,with pass or fail lying between grades C and D . This also Epps the reviewer identify where in the EIS need further improvement .
How can subjectivity in reviewing the EIS using the package be reduced?
Is to use the double blind approach: where the EIS is assessed by two independent reviewers using the package. The reviewers then compare notes and results and agree on grades.
