A

This is when a person believes that someone else will take responsibility for their own actions. people are more likely to obey when they are in the agentic state as they do not believe they will suffer the consequences of those actions. Q

Situational factors

A

A person is more likely to obey if the person of authority is wearing a uniform as this makes them more legitimate for example with milgram obedience was higher when the experimenter wore a lab coat.

Obedience is higher when an experiment is done in a place of more higher status so more legitimate ie milgram did his at yale and in a variation in a rundown building they were less obedient.

People are more obedient when they cannot see the consequences of their actions and when they are in closer proximity to the experimenter as it would put them under more pressure so likely to obey (and then variations over the phone and seeing and not seeing other ppl)
