What is the primary function of the Family Liaison Officer?
As partners in the investigation and not a support person.

What is an Exit Plan for a Family Liaison Officer?
The exit plan will be determined and executed at the discretion of the
O/C Investigation and should include plans for reactivation.
Define the term ‘Family’?
- Parents, siblings, partners, children, guardians, whanau and others who have a direct and close relationship
- Includes chosen family
- Should reflect victims culture and lifestyle
If a suspect is suspected to be living with Family members, what considerations/ actions or precautions should be taken?
- Welfare and safety of the FLO
- Increased monitoring of work and interactions with family
- Level of info disclosed
- Process intel from FLO is managed
- Need for FLO to be clear in interactions with family

- No more than 28 days from sentencing
