Can have a transparent background and generally larger and higher quality than JPG.

Raster image.

File compression is the process of reducing the size of a digital file, making it take up less storage space on a computer or device.
Disadvantage with BMP files
A major disadvantage of BMP files is their large file sizes. This is because BMP is an uncompressed, lossless format, storing each pixel’s color data without any reduction.
