Difficulties with using a medical model in mental health
relies on symptom reporting rather than objectively measureable signs
symptoms are examples of unusual thoughts,feelinsg and behaviours
Medical model of mental health
views mental distress as a disease, similar to physical illnesses, with biological or organic causes, such as brain abnormalities or chemical imbalances
