1.Louis and Marie werent good with money
- the third class were the only ones who paid taxes despite doing all the work
- France had war debts from helping the American Revolution
- The Enlightenment encouraged people to think about their place in the feudal system and their rights
- Food shortages

A sudden radical change in political or social order. In France, it was the overthrow of the monarchy and establish of a republic.

What is a republic?
A form of government where the people elect representatives, rather than having a monarchy.
What were the Jacobins?
A radical revolutionary political group that played a key role during the revolution, especially during the reign of terror.
What is the guillotine?
A device used for excecutions during the French Revolution, most famously to excecute Louis XVI and others.
